University of Luxembourg, Luxembourg invites application for Postdoctoral researcher position from eligible and interested candidates
About- The University of Luxembourg is a multilingual, international research University. Luxembourg is a dynamic, multicultural country in the heart of Europe with a strong research and development base supported by important organizational resources. The Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine (LCSB) at the University of Luxembourg offers state-of-the-art facilities and an excellent environment for interdisciplinary research.
Research/Job Area- Chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology or related disciplines
Location- University of Luxembourg, Luxembourg
Eligibility/Qualification–
- PhD degree in chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology or related disciplines, with a focus on analytical chemistry preferred
- Strong theoretical and practical experience in analytical chemistry and especially high-resolution mass spectrometry and chromatography (GC and LC)
- Strong computational skills, especially oriented towards mass spectral data analysis
- Solid background in metabolic biochemistry and engineering as well as biostatistics
- Excellent command of both written and spoken English
Job/Position Description- The Enzymology & Metabolism and Environmental Cheminformatics Groups at the LCSB are looking to hire a postdoctoral scientist to participate in a European Union funded Horizon 2020 project focused on synthetic biology-guided engineering of Pseudomonas putida for biofluorination (SinFonia). Fluoropolymers are the main fluorochemicals on the market worldwide, but the current chemical synthesis processes negatively impact the environment. SinFonia aims to develop sustainable and safe bioprocesses for generating fluoropolymers. We are seeking a highly motivated and talented scientist to develop targeted and untargeted MS-based metabolomic approaches to screen for desired and undesired metabolites (fluorinated and non-fluorinated) resulting from metabolic rewiring in P. putida and to devise metabolite repair-based strategies to ensure the catalytic stability of the engineered cell factories.
- Participation in a collaborative project supported by an international consortium of 13 academic and private partners, coordinated by the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Biosustainability at the Technical University of Denmark
- Opportunity to participate in the development of the well-equipped LCSB metabolomics platform
- Project funding available for up to 48 months
- Competitive remuneration; contract subject to public national security system benefits
- A dynamic, exciting and equal opportunity international research environment
How to Apply- Applications (in English) should quote Ref RCREQ0001719 and include:
