Project Title- Material Development for Lithium Ion Batteries
Location- Aalto University, Finland
Eligibility/Qualification- Successful candidates for the doctoral candidate position shall have MSc degree in Chemistry, Material Science or related field. The ideal candidate has a good knowledge in some or all of the following areas: batteries and their functioning, electrochemistry, inorganic chemistry and structural characterization techniques (SEM, XRD, FTIR, Raman, etc.). For the master candidate similar background in studies is expected. Good command of English is a necessary prerequisite.
Job/Position Description- The position is located in the Department of Chemistry and Materials Science, Research Group of Electrochemical Energy Conversion and Storage.
The StoryEV project is a joint-project between several Finnish companies and German counterparts and is funded by Business Finland. In the project, next generation lithium ion batteries with solid electrolytes are developed. Moreover, the focus is in understanding active material structure – durability relations in lithium ion batteries in general. The Aalto University contribution to this joint-project is electrochemical and structural characterization of the materials and development those together with the collaborators.
