Post-Doc Associate – NLP and ML: The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking a Post-Doc Research Associate to join the UNC-NLP Lab led by Professor Mohit Bansal. This position focuses on NLP and ML, encompassing research areas such as multimodal and embodied semantics, human-like language generation, and interpretable deep learning.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD in Computer Science or EE/ECE with a focus on machine learning applied to natural language processing, computer vision, or a related area.
  • Strong publication record in NLP, ML, or related areas.
  • Proficiency in programming with TensorFlow and/or PyTorch.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and leadership skills.

Job Description:

  • Conduct research in NLP and ML, including areas like multimodal+embodied semantics and human-like language generation.
  • Aid graduate students in their research projects and lead complementary research initiatives.
  • Develop a personal research agenda and collaborate with AI faculty in vision, robotics, and ML.
  • Advise graduate and undergraduate students and potentially teach courses if desired.
