Essential qualifications*: Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering and related disciplines with a research background in the aforementioned areas with a good publication record.
Candidates who have recently submitted their Ph.D. thesis are also eligible to apply subject to the condition that they have to provide proof of the award of PhD. degree at the time of interview if shortlisted.
The Department of Chemical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology (lIT) Roorkee invites applications from the outstanding candidates for a post-doctoral position under the mentorship of Prof. Prakash Biswas and Prof. Prateek Jha to work on a project entitled “First-principle design, synthesis, and characterization of nickel-ceria-zirconia catalyst for methane tri-reforming from MOF precursors”.
The prospective candidate is expected to have a strong background in computational chemistry and first-principle modell,ing. Experience with theoretical and experimental techniques applied to heterogeneous catalysis is desirable but not mandatory.
Duration and Fellowship amount: The duration of the fellowship will be for two years and extendable by one more year based on the performance as well as the requirements of the project. The candidate is expected to join the department as soon as the offer letter is issued. The fellowship including the contingency grant of the position is as below.
First & Second Year: Rs. 55,000/- per month
Third Year: Rs.60,OOO/- per month
The contingency of Rs . 50,000/- per annum will also be awarded.
