Eligibility/Qualification–

•    PhD degree in laser/semiconductor physics or nanofabrication, or related topics is favorable for the position
•    Proven track record in scientific research
•    Good command of English

Job/Position Description- A strong knowhow also in quantum optics theory is highly welcomed. We will offer you an unique research environment in the Micronova Nanofabrication Center, with multiple top class research groups and state of the art clean room equipment. In addition, the department has excellent infrastructure for state-of-the-art optics research. You’ll get an opportunity to conduct high quality research independently, but we expect also a strong engagement for supervising graduate students towards their doctoral dissertation and work as an active member in the research group.



 

Research group
This research position will be supported by the Micro and Quantum Systems group, which investigates quantum optics, quantum theory on semiconductors and energy harvesting. The group collaborates closely with other research groups that do their research in photonics and semiconductor physics in Micronova. The group is lead by Professor Ilkka Tittonen and is located in the Micronova Nanofabrication Center, the largest academic clean room facility in the Northern Europe.

Contract terms 
This Postdoctoral Researcher position will be filled for 1–3 years. The expected starting salary is approximately 3500 €/month, depending on experience and qualifications. Salary will increase according to responsibilities and performance over time. The contract includes occupational health benefits, holiday bonus, and Finland has a comprehensive social security system. The preferred starting time of employment is in the beginning of 2019, but this can be also negotiated.
