Research/Job area- Computer Science or related – Artificial Intelligence
Location- Research Center, Center for Computational Bioscience, king abdullah university of science and technology, Saudi Arabia
Eligibility/Qualification- A completed PhD and Master degree in a relevant field (Computer Science or related), completed in the last 4 years.
Technical Skills: Programming experience and experience in software development
Experience, demonstrated by a publication record, in one of the following areas:
- Machine Learning, Data Mining, Statistics, Data Science
- Semantic Technologies and Ontologies, Knowledge Representation, Formal Logic
- Development of novel methods in Bioinformatics or Biomedical data analytics
Non-Technical Skills or Attributes: Proficiency in spoken and written English
Job/Position Description- The postdoctoral researcher will be responsible for carrying out high-level research, including presentation of research results at conferences and in scientific journals.
The researcher will work in the research group of Robert Hoehndorf, a research group which is internationally recognized for their work in biomedical data mining, and which has strong collaborations with leading research institutes. The postdoctoral researcher will work on the development and application of Artificial Intelligence methods in bioinformatics and computational biology, with a particular focus on combining symbolic AI approaches (e.g., ontologies, knowledge graphs, rule-based systems) with machine learning methods.
