Location- Pune, Maharashtra, India
- MS degree in engineering, chemistry or related scientific/technical discipline required. PhD degree preferred.
- Six or more years of significant professional experience in leadership, organization and project development and management.
- Track record of operational excellence and new innovation success.
- Strong business acumen.
- Excellent communications and influencing skills.
- Prior working experience with Western company and in a regional role desired.
Leads the Nalco Water AP RD&E Team, Applications and Digital Solutions, in Pune to meet the regional business growth and objectives. Key outcomes required in new innovation development and introduction, technology transfer, technical service, Supply Chain and regulatory supports.
Partners with Business, Marketing and other functions and participates in Nalco Water AP Leadership Team to champion new innovation opportunities and technology advancements, as well as to improve innovation business impact, operational efficiency, product quality and customer service.
Ensures alignment of objectives and best leverage of resources on regional and global basis. Reports to AP RD&E Director administratively and receives functional and business directions from Global Water RD&E VP and Nalco Water AP GM, respectively.
New Innovations and Programs:
Closely partners with regional and global Marketing and RD&E teams to ensure that new innovations and programs being developed and deployed meet business growth strategy, imperatives and targets. Manages resource allocations in Pune technology center to support the current business and new innovation/program introductions. Effectively communicates regional customer needs and technology requirements, and work closely with global and corporate RD&E to identify, select, develop and implement appropriate solutions. Champions the Phase Gate process in Asia Pacific. Develops organizational competencies in project management for continuous improvement. Optimizes Intellectual Property, through patent filings, trade secrets and the support of Technical Notebooks and Reports. Ensures ongoing awareness of external technologies, competitor analyses, as well as emerging and disruptive opportunities.
Manages ongoing support to Supply Chain in operation, quality improvement and cost savings. Collaborates with Regulatory Affairs to assure product and system compliance with regional regulatory requirements. Provides advanced technical support to all 7 markets in Asia Pacific for Water Light and Heavy division to support business growth (Retain, Grow, and Gain). Develops and maintains in-depth knowledge of local markets, customer needs and technical requirements. Ensures compliance with RD&E documentation requirements for all product management, new product introduction, quality assurance, technical service protocols/ processes. Drives safety culture through regular participation in safety initiatives and ongoing discussion and review of safety practices. Makes safety a priority in all aspects and actively models safety leadership
Drives New Product Introduction process to deliver new product and service according to business plans. Effectively leverages existing technologies and platforms from global portfolio to drive business growth and new technology sales in Asia Pacific. Applies new and/or existing technologies to business problems and opportunities. Supports advancement of core technologies, services and value propositions. Ensures Knowledge Management a key priority, and information is well documented and maintained.
Is recognized as an effective leader and a productive contributor by Business and RD&E. Develops and maintains close working relationship with regional and divisional management to identify key programs for outsized growth. Demonstrates cross functional thinking and collaboration in project planning and prioritization. Establishes process to understand and identify customer needs and requirements. Represents Nalco Water to key customers, suppliers, OEMs, academia and trade organizations. Establishes active technical leadership role in key external associations.
Coaches, mentors and develops staff for delivering maximum impacts on business objectives. Establishes talent development and succession plan. Ensures 100% completion of Performance Reviews and Individual Development Plans on time. Develops direct reports and mentors key employees. Makes talent development a key part of the job.
