02 Post-doctoral Scientist Position: We currently have two exciting opportunities for Post-doctoral Scientists to join the Roger Williams Institute of Hepatology (RW-IoH) in London. These positions are ideal for individuals passionate about cutting-edge liver research, specifically in the areas of cancer immunology and mitochondrial medicine for liver disease.

Post-doctoral Scientist in Cancer Immunology (RS64) and Postdoctoral Scientist in Mitochondrial Medicine for Liver Disease (RS66)

Designation: Post-doctoral Scientist

Research Area:

  • RS64: Cancer Immunology within the Liver Regeneration & Tissue Engineering, and Liver Immunology groups.
  • RS66: Mitochondrial Medicine for Liver Disease.

Location: London SE5

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • RS64:
    • Strong background in cancer immunology.
    • Preferably experience with human samples.
    • Knowledge of liver immunology is advantageous.
    • Good publication record.
  • RS66:
    • Strong background in mitochondrial pathophysiology, morphology, and dynamics.
    • Preferably experience with human models/samples.
    • Knowledge of liver disease or organ transplantation is advantageous.
    • Good publication record.

Job Description:

  • RS64:
    • Manage and coordinate a project exploring immunomodulatory properties of the extracellular matrix in liver cancers.
    • Focus on the cross-talk between immune cells and ECM-associated proteins.
    • Perform data collection and analysis, literature review, manuscript preparation.
    • Present findings at scientific meetings and conferences.
    • Mentor and supervise junior team members and visiting students.
  • RS66:
    • Develop a project on mitochondrial transplantation or targeting mitochondrial dynamics for Alcohol-related Liver Disease.
    • Manage and coordinate the project with a focus on translational medicine.
    • Perform data collection and analysis, literature review, manuscript preparation.
    • Present findings at scientific meetings and conferences.
    • Mentor and supervise junior team members and students.
