Eligibility/Qualification:

  • University degree (MSc or equivalent) in Neuroscience, Biology, Biochemistry, Psychology, or related disciplines

  • Strong motivation to learn new methodologies and ability to independently plan, conduct, and analyze experiments
  • Creative and active team player, fluent in English

Job Description: The Research Training Group 2413 SynAGE, established in 2019 and currently in its second funding period, is focused on the investigation of mechanisms that maintain synaptic and circuit functions in the ageing brain. PhD candidates will:

  • Participate in interdisciplinary projects to explore fundamental mechanisms of healthy synaptic ageing.
  • Receive state-of-the-art training in molecular, cellular, and systems neurobiology, as well as cognitive neurobiology.
  • Work in an international team with excellent infrastructure and modern workspaces.
