Post-doctoral Position in Italy

18-Months Postdoctoral Fellowship: An exciting opportunity for an 18-month postdoctoral fellowship is available from April 1st, 2024, in the laboratory of “Signaling Pathways that Control Protein Homeostasis in Muscles,” directed by Prof. Marco Sandri at the Department of Biomedical Sciences, University of Padova, Italy. The project focuses on developing RNA-based therapies in vivo to modulate signaling pathways related to protein degradation, bioenergetics/mitochondria, and protein synthesis.

Designation: Postdoctoral Fellow

Research Area: Signaling Pathways in Muscle Protein Homeostasis

Location: Department of Biomedical Sciences, University of Padova, Italy

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD in a relevant field
  • Proven experience in in vivo mouse models of muscle wasting
  • Skills in molecular biology (cloning) and biochemical techniques
  • Proficiency in morphometry, histology, and immunofluorescence techniques on tissue sections
  • Experience in in vivo gene delivery with viral vectors (preferably AAV virus)
  • Familiarity with single nucleus RNA and ATAC sequencing and bioinformatic analysis
  • Expertise in Chromatin Immunoprecipitation

Job Description: The successful candidate will actively contribute to the project’s goals by applying expertise in in vivo mouse models of muscle wasting, molecular biology techniques (cloning), biochemical methods, and advanced techniques such as morphometry, histology, and immunofluorescence on tissue sections. The role also involves utilizing in vivo gene delivery with viral vectors, preferably AAV virus, and expertise in single nucleus RNA and ATAC sequencing with subsequent bioinformatic analysis. Proficiency in Chromatin Immunoprecipitation is highly desirable.

How to Apply: Interested candidates should submit their applications, including a CV and reference contacts, to Prof. Marco Sandri (marco.sandri@unipd.it) and Asst. Prof. Roberta Sartori (roberta.sartori@unipd.it). Please indicate “Postdoctoral Fellowship Application – Signaling Pathways in Muscle Protein Homeostasis” in the subject line.

Last Date for Apply: Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. Early applications are encouraged.
