Designation: PhD Candidate
Research Area: Life-Cycle Assessment (LCA) of more sustainable agriculture and food systems, focusing on climate change mitigation, sustainable land and resource management, and agricultural systems.
Location: Industrial Ecology Programme at NTNU, with headquarters in Trondheim, Norway.
Eligibility/Qualification:
- Master’s degree in Industrial Ecology, Environmental Sciences, Agricultural Science, Natural Science, or related fields.
- Previous experience with LCA and/or environmental sustainability analysis methods.
- Strong understanding of fundamentals in mathematics and physics.
- Excellent written and oral English language skills.
- Education equivalent to a five-year Norwegian degree program.
- Strong academic background with an average grade equal to B or better on NTNU’s grading scale.
- Meet requirements for admission to the faculty’s doctoral program.
Job Description:
- Conduct a three-year PhD study at the Industrial Ecology Programme, NTNU.
- Improve existing methods of environmental sustainability analysis, primarily for climate change, nutrients, sustainable production, and consumption.
- Apply developed methods to case studies relevant to transitioning to more sustainable agricultural systems.
- Perform methodological and applied research.
- Collaborate with major global experts in the field and engage with national and international industries.
- Attend a PhD program with access to the latest approaches in Life-Cycle Assessment (LCA).
