2 PhD Fellowships in Developing Rapeseed as a Novel Protein Food Crop

Location: Department of Plant and Environmental Sciences, Faculty of Science, University of Copenhagen, Denmark
Eligibility/Qualification:
- A Master’s degree (MSc) in Biology-Biotechnology, plant biology, genetics, biology, ecology, agronomy, or closely related fields.
- Strong research experience in plant genetics, primary and specialized metabolism, metabolite profiling, seed biology, plant transport processes, or rapeseed biology.
- Excellent proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Experience with transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, multivariable data analysis, greenhouse and/or field studies, GWAS, or related topics is advantageous.
Job Description: The PhD positions involve research in two distinct projects:
- PhD Position 1: Develop an innovative strategy using transport engineering to eliminate anti-nutritional compounds in rapeseed seeds, enhancing disease resistance and expanding the gene pool.
- PhD Position 2: Improve seed quality traits of rapeseed for human consumption, identifying key off-flavor compounds in press cake and providing breeding targets for quality improvement.
