Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Sustainable Energy Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Engineering Science, Mechatronics Systems Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Nanotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or related fields.
  • Proficiency and proven experience in perovskite photovoltaics research, including synthesis, production of solar cells, and characterization of materials and devices.
  • A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.9/4.33 (or equivalent).
  • Excellent command of the English language.
  • Compliance with Simon Fraser University’s admission requirements for graduate studies.
  • Eligibility for a Canadian study permit if not a Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Availability to start in January 2025.

Job Description:
The selected PhD student will work within the Sustainable Optoelectronics Research Group to develop and study wide-bandgap perovskites for integration into photovoltaic devices. This research aims to advance energy harvesting and clean fuel technologies, contributing to sustainability solutions. The program will offer comprehensive training in Sustainable Energy Engineering, preparing the student to address pressing environmental challenges.
