Location: University of Santiago de Compostela, CIQUS – Center for Research in Biological Chemistry and Molecular Materials, Spain
Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD in Chemistry/Materials Science or related area
- Experience relevant to the specific postdoc position applied for (detailed below)
- Excellent communication skills and proficiency in written and spoken English
- Creativity, team-working ability, and capability to work in a multidisciplinary and dynamic international environment
- International postdoctoral experience is highly valued
- Excellent scientific record in materials science
Job Description:
Postdoc Position 1:
- Focus: Synthesis and characterization of spin-crossover barocaloric materials
- Requirements:
- PhD in Chemistry/Materials Science or related area
- Experience in coordination synthesis and spin-crossover materials
- Expertise in XRD, Raman, SQUID, and DSC techniques; experience in barocalorics and magnetism
Postdoc Position 2:
- Focus: Manufacture and testing of cost-effective barocaloric solid-state refrigerants for thermal batteries
- Requirements:
- PhD in Chemistry/Materials Science or related area
- Experience in advanced characterization under variable temperature and pressure conditions
- Expertise in caloric techniques and studies of chemical, thermal, and mechanical stability over time
Starting Date and Term: Positions are available starting 1 Sep 2024 for a duration of 2 years, with the possibility of extension.
