2 Postdoctoral Researchers: The University of Cologne invites applications for two Postdoctoral Researcher positions as part of the research initiative ‘Immunometabolism in Health and Disease.’ The project, funded by the Federal State of North Rhine-Westphalia, aims to produce molecular, cellular, and biochemical data from plant and animal systems to advance the understanding of cellular metabolic programs underpinning immune responses.

2 Postdoctoral Researchers (f/m/x) in Plant Metabolism and Immunity

Designation: Postdoctoral Researcher

Research Area: Plant Metabolism and Immunity

Location: University of Cologne, Germany

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD in microbiology, molecular biology, plant science, biochemistry, or related discipline
  • Proven expertise in plant metabolism, immunity, and/or molecular biology with a publication record
  • Experience with A. thaliana knockout mutants, functional genomics, or fungal genetics
  • Proficiency in data analysis and modeling techniques is an advantage

Job Description: We invite candidates to apply for the following projects:

  1. Project 1:
    • Identify and functionally analyze infochemicals (signaling molecules and metabolites) in host-microbiota interactions
    • Study host- and microbe-derived metabolite signals driving metabolic interdependence in host-microbe interactions
  2. Project 2:
    • Characterize novel nucleotide-based molecules
    • Identify new active metabolites affecting fungal accommodation
