2-Year Post-doctoral Position: A 2-year funded post-doctoral position is available at the Laboratory of Aging and Repair (LREV) under Dr. Pascale Bertrand in collaboration with the CEA, Institute Jacob/iRCM/U1274 Inserm Unit in Fontenay-aux-Roses, France. This research focuses on the impact of lamin B1 dysregulation on telomere maintenance and tumorigenesis. The successful candidate will investigate genomic instability and its role in cancer progression, while contributing to potential new therapeutic strategies in cancer research.

Study Area:
The post-doctoral project will focus on the molecular mechanisms linking lamin B1 dysregulation to telomere instability and tumorigenesis. Lamin B1 plays a crucial role in the nuclear envelope, and its overexpression has been associated with genomic instability in cancer. The study will involve detailed analysis of lamin B1 interactions with telomere-capping proteins and how their dysregulation influences chromosomal stability, potentially leading to cancer.
Scholarship Description:
The successful candidate will work within the LREV team, contributing to cutting-edge cancer research. The role involves studying DNA repair mechanisms, oxidative stress, replicative stress, and immune responses to radiotherapy. The aim is to elucidate how the nuclear envelope and telomeres contribute to tumorigenesis and how these pathways can be targeted for cancer therapy. The project also aims to improve radiotherapy treatments while preserving healthy tissue.
Eligibility:
- PhD degree in molecular biology, cell biology, genetics, or a related field.
- Strong expertise in molecular biology, cell culture, and cellular biology.
- Experience in DNA repair, telomere biology, and cancer research will be highly valued.
- High proficiency in English is required.
Required Documents:
- Curriculum Vitae (CV) including references
- List of publications
- Motivation letter
How to Apply:
Interested candidates should submit their application by emailing their CV, list of publications, and motivation letter to Gaëlle Pennarun at gaelle.pennarun@cea.fr.
Last Date:
The application deadline is November 30, 2024.
