- Proficiency in English equivalent to English B/6.
- Basic eligibility as per Swedish Higher Education Ordinance (Chapter 7, 39 §):
- Second cycle degree (e.g., Master’s), or
- 240 higher education credits (60 at second-cycle), or
- Equivalent knowledge from other sources.
Job Description
The selected PhD students will work on projects within the Competence Center NEXT, focusing on:
- Macro/Micro-Stress Evolution in Steels
Investigate mechanical responses of surface-hardened steels under cyclic loadings, particularly in electric vehicles, using in-situ measurements to understand stress and damage evolution leading to fatigue failure. - Additive Manufacturing Investigation
Utilize synchrotron measurements for the experimental and computational study of metal additive manufacturing, developing novel ICME approaches for designing new materials and processes to address sustainability challenges. - High-Throughput Synchrotron Measurements
Develop methodologies for high-throughput synchrotron x-ray experiments to build ICME databases, accelerating the development of sustainable materials and processes.
Supervision
Dr. Peter Hedström and Dr. Greta Lindwall will supervise the doctoral students.
