Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD in Agronomy, Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or Pharmacy
- Minimum 12 months of research experience in a university or research center abroad
- Proven research expertise with publications in biocontrol or molecular phytopathology
- Background in bioinformatics with programming skills (e.g., Python) desirable
- Ability to frame and test questions experimentally and bioinformatically
- Strong writing skills for scientific publications
- Very good English communication skills; ability to work both independently and in a team
Job Description:
3-Year Postdoctoral Position in the Group of Prof. Dr. Enrique Monter, University of Salamanca
The successful applicant will use genetic, molecular, and bioinformatics approaches to study Trichoderma miRNAs’ role in inducing systemic resistance in tomato. Tasks include identifying and sequencing Trichoderma siRNA, genomic analysis, expression studies, infection studies with wheat pathogens, and functional validation of Trichoderma miRNA-wheat targets pairs.
Starting Date: 01/05/2024
Teaching Activities: The candidate will be involved in teaching activities (1 week/year).
