The DFG Research Training Group (RTG) 2485 ‘Virus detection, pathogenesis and intervention’ (VIPER) at the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover is offering 32 fully funded doctoral researcher positions in the interdisciplinary field of virology. VIPER aims to train the next generation of scientists to address complex health issues caused by emerging and re-emerging viruses.

Eligibility/Qualification:
- Master’s degree or State Examination in Veterinary Medicine, Medicine, or Life Sciences
- Background and keen interest in virology and molecular work
- Proficiency in written and spoken English
Job Description:
The selected doctoral researchers will be involved in the VIPER research projects, focusing on virus discovery, host range and transmission; virus-host cell interactions and pathogenesis; and immune interference and intervention strategies. The program offers a comprehensive and interdisciplinary approach to tackling pressing health challenges posed by viruses.
