5ForTheFight-funded PhD: The School of Medicine at Trinity College Dublin is seeking a highly motivated candidate for a Breakthrough Cancer Research/SForTheFight-funded 3-year PhD position in cancer immunology. The project, supervised by Dr. Melissa Conroy and Professor Joanne Lysaght, will focus on developing tumor-homing NK cell therapies for obesity-associated cancer, specifically esophageal adenocarcinoma (OAC).

Eligibility/Qualification:
- Applicants should hold an undergraduate degree or MSc in biomedical sciences, immunology, oncology, or a related discipline.
- Skills and interests in cancer research and immunology.
- Experience in cell and tissue culture techniques, flow cytometry, and ELISA is desirable.
- Experience with in vivo models is preferable but not essential.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.
- High level of initiative, organization, and strong written and oral communication skills.

The successful candidate will conduct research using in vitro and in vivo pre-clinical models to test the efficacy of novel immunotherapeutic approaches for esophageal adenocarcinoma (OAC). The project aims to develop tumor-homing NK cell therapies to address the poor prognosis associated with obesity-related malignancies.
