OPEN Scholarship Postdoc Position: We have a 1+1 year scholarship postdoc position focusing on protein film electrochemistry of multicopper oxidases.
Designation: Postdoctoral Researcher
Research Area: Protein Film Electrochemistry of Multicopper Oxidases
Location: University of Uppsala, Sweden
Eligibility/Qualification:
- Ph.D. degree or international equivalent in Biochemistry, Electrochemistry, Physical Chemistry, or a related field
- Documented experience in bioelectrochemistry, preferably in protein film electrochemistry
- Fluency in English for effective scientific communication
- Ability to conduct independent research based on scientific skills
- Strong collaborative skills, drive, creativity, and independence
Job Description: The postdoc position involves investigating the mechanism of heterogeneous oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) catalyzed by multicopper oxidases (MCOs). The project utilizes protein film voltammetry coupled with surface-enhanced resonance Raman spectroscopy, along with mathematical modeling, to explore the ORR mechanism. High-potential MCOs, with a small overpotential for ORR, are crucial for constructing efficient biocathodes in fuel cells. The successful candidate will contribute to advancing the understanding of MCOs’ catalytic mechanisms and their potential applications.
How to Apply: Interested candidates should submit their application via email to alina.sekretareva@kemi.uu.se before the deadline. The application must include the following documents:
- A letter of motivation detailing the applicant’s research interests and motivation for applying (max 1 page)
- CV
- Publication list
- Copy of the Ph.D. degree certificate
- Names and contact information of three referees
