Research Assistant (Postdoc) in Physics: The Department of Physics at the University of Marburg is inviting applications for a Research Assistant (Postdoc) position in the research group on “Physics of Solar Energy Conversion,” led by Prof. Dr. Jan Christoph Goldschmidt. The position is for a duration of 4 years, and the selected candidate is expected to start as soon as possible.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Completed scientific university degree (diploma, master’s, or comparable) and a PhD in physics, chemistry, electrical engineering, materials science, or a related field
  • Enthusiasm for excellent scientific research and sustainable technologies
  • Independence, initiative, sense of responsibility, creativity, curiosity, ability to work in a team
  • Experience in the production of perovskite solar cells; experience in perovskite-based tandem solar cells is an advantage
  • Experience in the supervision of theses is an advantage
  • Disposition for independent scientific qualification

Job Description: The Research Assistant will be responsible for:

  • Research in the field of perovskite-based tandem solar cells, focusing on manufacturing processes and investigating interface effects
  • Development of laboratory infrastructure
  • Support in project acquisition, with increasing independence in acquiring third-party funds
  • Publication of scientific results at international conferences and in peer-reviewed journals
  • Participation in teaching, particularly in the “Physics of Green Technologies” degree program
