PhD Fellowships – FLIGHT Fellowship: ICFO (The Institute of Photonic Sciences) is offering up to 8 PhD fellowship positions within the FLIGHT Program, a MSCA-COFUND doctoral program emphasizing intersectoral research training in collaboration with Industrial or Clinical Partners. The program covers diverse research topics at ICFO and provides three tracks: Clinical, Industrial, and Enhanced. Successful candidates will be part of a vibrant international and interdisciplinary environment.

Designation: PhD Fellows

Research Area:

  1. Clinical Track: Various projects related to neuroscience and medical applications.
  2. Industrial Track: Projects covering quantum dot technology, quantum randomness, and ultrafast photon counting arrays.
  3. Enhanced Track: Research lines across all ICFO Research Groups.

Location: ICFO – The Institute of Photonic Sciences, Spain

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Internationally recognized Master-equivalent degree.
  • Degree in mathematics, science, engineering, or medical sciences related to ICFO’s research activities.
  • High working knowledge of English.
  • For Clinical track applicants, a background in neuropsychology, medicine, biology, etc. is valued.

Job Description:

  • Engage in cutting-edge research projects in collaboration with Clinical, Industrial, or ICFO’s Research Groups.
  • PhD tracks include Clinical (with Clinical Partners), Industrial (with Industrial Partners), and Enhanced (with ICFO’s Research Groups).
  • Participate in secondments (6-18 months) for Fellows in Clinical and Industrial tracks.
