Post Doctoral Research Associate – Economics: Join UMass Amherst, the Commonwealth’s flagship campus, as a Post Doctoral Research Associate in Economics. This two-year position provides an exciting opportunity to collaborate on research focused on the political economy of essential sectors and a post-neoliberal economic stabilization paradigm, under the guidance of PI Isabella Weber.

Location: UMass Amherst, Massachusetts, USA

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Completed PhD at the time of appointment
  • Academic activity for no longer than 4 years post-PhD

Job Description:

  • Collaborate on research with PI Isabella Weber
  • Coordinate a team of graduate student research assistants
  • Conduct primary research on selected sectors using mixed methods and archival research
  • Conduct literature reviews on governance modes for systemically important sectors
  • Prepare expert interviews and group discussions
  • Develop and lead an outreach strategy engaging stakeholders and the broader public
  • Present research at academic conferences and workshops
  • Work with the PI to build up infrastructure and protocols for collaborative research

Additional Information

– Successful candidates are encouraged to relocate to Amherst; remote work arrangements will be considered
– This is a research position; no teaching is expected, but collaboration with graduate and undergraduate student assistants may occur
– The postdoctoral research associate will be mentored by Isabella Weber
