Eligibility/Qualification:
- For PhD positions: Master’s degree in Biotechnology, Bioengineering, Molecular Life Sciences, Biochemistry, Bionanotechnology, or Biochemical Engineering.
- For PostDoc positions: PhD in relevant field specified in the project descriptions.
- Knowledge of French is not required.
- Candidates must be interested in interdisciplinary collaboration between philosophy and biology.
Job Description:
- Project 1 (PhD and/or PostDoc): Measuring Aging:
- Apply measurement theory and philosophy to address challenges in measuring aging.
- Develop an optimal framework for measuring aging’s progression.
- Collaborate with an international team of philosophers and biologists.
 
- Project 2 (PhD and/or PostDoc): The Conditions of Cancer Across the Tree of Life:
- Explore cancer and cancer resistance mechanisms across species.
- Identify necessary conditions for cancer development.
- Formulate experimental and therapeutic hypotheses.
 
- Project 3 (PhD): What is a Cell Type?:
- Investigate recent debates about cell types and their classification.
- Conceptual clarification of the notion of “cell type.”
- Collaboration with biologists and bioinformaticians.
