Post-Doc Researcher in Gene Editing: Eurac Research is seeking a highly motivated Post-Doctoral Researcher to join the Institute for Biomedicine in Bozen/Bolzano. The researcher will contribute to cutting-edge projects in gene editing and screening, focusing on neurobiological and cardiovascular disease research. The position offers a collaborative work environment, multidisciplinary teams, and an initial one-year contract.

Post-Doc Researcher in Gene Editing and Screening with CRISPR-based Systems

Study Area: Gene Editing and Screening with CRISPR-based Systems, Molecular Biology, Biology

Location: Bozen/Bolzano, Italy

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD in Molecular Biology or related fields.
  • Preferred experience in neurobiological or cardiovascular disease research.
  • Demonstrated expertise in molecular and cell biology techniques, especially in the generation and manipulation/reprogramming of iPS cells.
  • Technical proficiency in using CRISPR-based systems for editing cell lines, particularly iPS cells.
  • Additional experience with “Base” and/or “Prime” editing systems and high-throughput genetic screens is advantageous.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including management of junior scientists and PhD students.
  • Experience in successful grant and paper writing.

Description: The Post-Doc Researcher will be responsible for setting up and applying CRISPR-based gene editing technologies to characterize genes and processes related to health and disease. Tasks include contributing to the development of human tissue models and assisting in project design and execution using CRISPR-based editing or screening. The role involves staying updated with emerging experimental technologies.
