Location: Complex Molecular Systems Laboratory, NAIST, Japan
Eligibility/Qualification: We seek motivated graduate students with an interest in disciplines such as chemistry, physics, biophysics, and protein science. Prospective students should be enthusiastic about engaging in interdisciplinary research and have a desire to explore new scientific realms.
Job Description:
- Full responsibility for individual research projects.
- Training sessions to familiarize students with experimental procedures, including genetic engineering, protein preparation, spectrometry, and structural validation techniques.
- Engaging in discussions with laboratory staff to determine research topics.
- Overcoming research obstacles through collaborative problem-solving.
- Participation in various stages of academic research, including presentations, manuscript preparation, and thesis compilation.
Requirements for Master’s Degree:
- Demonstrate logical reasoning and independent judgment.
- Conduct and explain research projects.
- Perform general experimental procedures.
- Communicate research problems and solutions effectively.
- Summarize and present research results.
Requirements for Doctoral Degree: In addition to Master’s degree requirements:
- In-depth understanding of employed experimental techniques, capable of teaching them to beginners.
- Recognize the academic and social significance of research themes, proposing new research agendas.
- Ability to learn and master experimental techniques for new projects.
- Expertise to create results or materials of scientific or social significance.
- Present at domestic academic conferences annually and international conferences at least once during the doctoral program.
- Published an article in English-language peer-reviewed academic journal.
