Research Fellow – Robot Learning: Monash University’s School of Electrical and Computer Systems Engineering, within the Faculty of Engineering, is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow for a 12-month fixed-term appointment. This position is part of the Monash Robotics team, Australia’s leading human-centred robot research facility, and will contribute to the recently awarded ARC Discovery Project focusing on “Human Models for Accelerated Robot Learning and Human-Robot Interaction.” The successful candidate will play a crucial role in developing novel models to enhance robot learning, specifically in human-robot interaction scenarios.

Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or related disciplines, including machine learning and computational cognitive sciences.
Job Description: The Research Fellow will:
- Contribute to the ARC Discovery Project by developing novel models for generating various human behaviors to train human-robot interaction policies.
- Identify and integrate known human behavioral biases into deep learning models fit to human data.
- Collaborate with the project team to develop innovative robot learning algorithms.
- Evaluate robot policies in simulation and with real users, aiming for fast and safe robot training in human contexts like healthcare facilities, homes, and workplaces.
