Study Area: Computational Modelling of Stochastic Fracture

Scholarship Description: The PhD project focuses on investigating stochastic fracture behavior through micromechanical-based studies. The primary objective is to develop predictive microstructure-based models for plastic flow and fracture in metal materials with statistically varying mechanical properties. The research involves numerical modelling, simulations, and potential physical experiments.

  • Strong academic background with an average grade equal to B or better.
  • Admission to the faculty’s doctoral program.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Competence in solid mechanics and finite element analysis.

Required Documents:

  • CV and certificates
  • Transcripts and diplomas for bachelor’s and master’s degrees
  • Confirmation of master’s thesis submission if not completed
  • Name and contact information of three referees
  • Publications or other relevant research work
  • Documentation of education taken abroad
