Scholarship Description: The PhD project focuses on investigating stochastic fracture behavior through micromechanical-based studies. The primary objective is to develop predictive microstructure-based models for plastic flow and fracture in metal materials with statistically varying mechanical properties. Eligibility:
- Relevant background in solid mechanics or structural engineering.
- Completion of a five-year Norwegian degree program with 120 credits at the master’s level.
- Strong academic background with an average grade equal to B or better.
- Admission to the faculty’s doctoral program.
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
- Competence in solid mechanics and finite element analysis.
