The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Dr. Janak Dhakal, delving into research on Food Microbiology, Food Safety, and Antimicrobial Resistance.

Study Area: Food Microbiology, Food Safety, Antimicrobial Resistance

Location: University of Maryland Eastern Shore, USA

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • M.S. in Food Science, Poultry Science, Animal Science, microbiology, or a closely related field.
  • Enthusiasm for both field and laboratory research.
  • Preferred: Prior food microbiology research experience.
  • Preferred: Previous working experience in a BSL2 facility.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

Description: The selected candidate will be involved in various aspects of research, including developing research protocols, conducting field trips for sample collection, performing laboratory microbiological analysis (both conventional and molecular), data analysis using statistical software, and preparing scientific manuscripts for publication. Additionally, responsibilities include preparing posters and oral presentations for scientific conferences and assisting in other research projects and departmental activities.
