Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD in seismology, geophysics, deep learning related to Earth sciences, computer science, physics, applied mathematics, or a related field
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English
  • Interest in geophysical datasets and computer programming (Python, MATLAB, C, and/or Fortran)
  • Curiosity in Numerical Methods for Partial Differential Equations, big data management, and supercomputing facilities
  • Experience with machine-learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX) and familiarity with geochemistry, inverse theory, and/or thermodynamics is desirable
  • Strong conceptual, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills

Job Description:
The Researcher will lead a project focused on developing novel methods for subsurface characterization by integrating geophysical data with deep learning techniques. Responsibilities include data extraction, development of deep learning models, collaboration with research partners, and dissemination of results through publications and presentations. The role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic research environment and contribute to cutting-edge advancements in geophysics and computational geodynamics.
