Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Completed Ph.D. or an international degree deemed equivalent in theology or a related field.
  • Proficiency in English and languages relevant to the proposed research project.
  • Strong research skills and the ability to develop and carry out high-quality research.
  • Teaching skills or willingness to undergo training if teaching is part of the duties.

Description: The postdoctoral position is affiliated with the project “FABRIC,” which explores the role of faith-based refugee relief organizations in Europe and their moral insights into forced migration. The successful candidate will conduct fieldwork with these organizations across Europe, contributing to the project’s empirical and ethical dimensions. Applicants are expected to propose a research project within the scope of FABRIC, preferably drawing on public and political theology to analyze multi-faith-based refugee relief.

Work Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the FABRIC project, including administrative and academic tasks.
  • Conduct fieldwork with faith-based refugee relief organizations.
  • Undertake proposed research project.
  • Participate actively in research-related activities at the Centre for Theology and Religious Studies (CTR).
  • Teaching duties may be involved for up to 20% of working hours.

Qualifications:

  • Completed Ph.D. or equivalent degree in theology or a related field.
  • Research expertise and the ability to develop high-quality research projects.
  • Teaching skills or willingness to undergo training if needed.
  • Additional qualifications such as research output, fieldwork experience, or interdisciplinary collaboration are advantageous.

Terms:

  • Temporary position limited to two years.
  • Full-time employment according to the “Agreement regarding fixed-term employment as a postdoctoral fellow.”
