PhD Position in Computational Approaches to Narrative in Argumentation

Location: University of Groningen, Netherlands
Eligibility/Qualification:
- Master’s degree in computer science, computational linguistics, information science, or computational social sciences
- Proficiency in Natural Language Processing (NLP) and familiarity with Machine Learning (ML) in Python
- Good academic writing skills in English
- Willingness to relocate to the Netherlands
- Applicants should hold a master’s degree or be in the process of completing it before September 2024
Description: The selected candidate will conduct research on the computational linguistic modeling of narrative and argumentative texts. Tasks include collecting data from various online sources, applying NLP methods for text analysis, and contributing to research meetings and public outreach activities. The project offers opportunities to collaborate with experts in language and cognition research and engage in multidisciplinary discussions.
