Postdoctoral Scientist – epigenetic mechanisms, MA, USA

Postdoctoral Position in USA

Postdoctoral Scientist – epigenetic mechanisms: Join the Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole, MA, for a postdoctoral position investigating the cellular, genetic, and epigenetic mechanisms underlying maternal age effects on offspring health and lifespan. This NIH-funded project, led by Dr. Kristin Gribble, explores the role of mitochondrial dynamics and metabolism in maternal age effects using molecular, bioinformatic, biochemical, and imaging techniques.

Postdoctoral Scientist – Maternal age effects: mitochondrial and epigenetic mechanisms

Designation: Postdoctoral Scientist

Research Area: Maternal age effects: mitochondrial and epigenetic mechanisms

Location: Marine Biological Laboratory, Woods Hole, MA, USA

Eligibility/Qualification: Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, genetics, bioinformatics, or a related field. A strong track record of scientific rigor, productivity, and creativity is desired. While knowledge of rotifer biology is not mandatory, individuals with experience in other model systems and expertise in bioinformatics, cell biology, biochemistry, epigenetics, and/or imaging are encouraged to apply.

Job Description: The selected candidate will conduct research under the guidance of Dr. Kristin Gribble, investigating the mechanisms of maternal age effects on offspring health and lifespan. The project involves studying mitochondrial dynamics and metabolism using molecular, bioinformatic, biochemical, and imaging approaches. The postdoctoral scientist will contribute to experimental design, data collection, analysis, and interpretation, and collaborate with other members of the research team.

How to Apply: Interested candidates should submit the following documents to umair.n.mughal@nord.no and mark.j.costello@nord.no no later than April 30, 2024:

  1. Cover letter: Briefly describe your research experience and how you will contribute to the study of maternal age effects on offspring.
  2. Curriculum Vitae (CV): Include contact details, a list of publications, projects, and relevant academic achievements.
  3. Contact information for at least three references.
