Your Job: As a PhD candidate, you will be at the forefront of unlocking untapped potential in electrochemical systems through innovative data analysis. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and validating advanced AI methodologies for energy materials characterization.
  • Contributing to systematic data collection and metadata extraction to enhance machine learning applications.
  • Utilizing programming skills, particularly in Python, to automate characterization and fabrication processes.
  • Ensuring the integration and effectiveness of AI algorithms in high-throughput systems.
  • Collecting and analyzing data from existing experiments on PEM water electrolysis.
  • Defining useful data structures and storing data in a suitable repository.
  • Analyzing data using machine learning algorithms.
  • Communicating results and needs to partners within the Forschungszentrum and EU project consortium.

Your Profile: We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications and skills:

  • Master’s degree with excellent marks in Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or Informatics.
  • Experience with experimental work and characterization techniques.
  • Proficiency in programming, particularly in Python, with a strong understanding of data extraction and machine learning models.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience in research data analysis.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Fluency in English is mandatory, while fluency in German is advantageous.
