Study Area: Alkaline Water Electrolysis

Scholarship Description: The PhD position will focus on the flexibility and durability improvement of alkaline water electrolysis, particularly relevant for electrolyzers coupled to variable renewable electricity supply. An essential aspect is the tolerance to frequent shutdowns, potentially damaging electrodes. The goal is to elucidate the shutdown process and develop an accelerated stress test protocol for screening electrode materials.

Eligibility: We are seeking talented, motivated PhD students with a background in chemical or mechanical engineering. Applicants should have recently completed or will soon complete their master’s degree (MSc) and possess knowledge or experience in electrochemistry. Excellent English communication skills are essential.

Required Documents:

  1. Cover letter: Describe motivation and qualifications.
  2. Curriculum vitae: Include publications and contact information for three references.
