Postdoctoral Position in Plant-Pathogen Interactions: A two-year postdoctoral position is available at INRAE Palaiseau / Paris-Saclay University, France, as part of a collaborative project with the company BASF. This project focuses on the functional characterization of molecular determinants involved in atypical gene-for-gene interactions between rapeseed and its fungal pathogen Leptosphaeria maculans.
Postdoctoral Position in Molecular Plant-Pathogen Interactions
Designation:
Postdoctoral Researcher
Research Area:
Functional characterization of molecular determinants in rapeseed and Leptosphaeria maculans interactions.
Location:
INRAE Palaiseau / Paris-Saclay University, France, with one month per year at the BASF Innovation Center in Ghent, Belgium.
Eligibility/Qualification:
- Ph.D. in a relevant field (molecular plant-pathogen interactions and/or plant molecular biology).
- Demonstrated experience in molecular plant-microbe interactions and/or plant molecular biology.
- Expertise in microbiology or plant biotechnologies is a plus.
- Excellent English communication skills.
- Personal qualities such as creativity, motivation, and ability to work in a team.
Job Description:
The EPLM team of the BIOGER Institute is seeking a postdoc to join a project on rapeseed and its fungal pathogen, Leptosphaeria maculans. The project explores the genotypic and phenotypic diversity associated with AvrLm/Rlm interactions to identify molecular determinants involved in atypical recognition phenotypes. The postdoc will investigate allelic and phenotypic diversity, including atypical interaction phenotypes, and conduct structure/function analyses to identify protein regions involved in these interactions.
The successful applicant will join a dynamic team with access to state-of-the-art facilities, including growth facilities for plants and fungi, molecular biology equipment, protein biochemistry, bioinformatics tools, and cell imaging technologies.
