Researcher (Scientific Employee): The University of Siegen is seeking a motivated and talented individual to join our team as a Scientific Employee in the Faculty IV: School of Science and Technology, specifically within the Chemistry-Biology department focused on Organic Chemistry I. This part-time position (50% = 19.92 hours) is limited to a duration of three years, starting from October 1, 2024.

Research Area:
Supramolecular Chemistry, with a focus on organic ligand synthesis, the self-organization of supramolecular structures, and their properties (e.g., host-guest chemistry, photochemistry, stimuli-responsive properties).

Faculty IV: School of Science and Technology, University of Siegen, Germany
Eligibility/Qualification:
- An above-average academic degree (Master or equivalent) in Chemistry.
- A Master’s thesis related to supramolecular chemistry is advantageous.
- Experience in the synthesis of organic ligands and coordination complexes.
- Proficiency in the characterization of supramolecular structures, such as cage compounds using spectroscopy (e.g., NMR, UV/vis) and photochemistry.
- Very good knowledge of English; knowledge of German is an advantage.
- Experience and/or interest in interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Experience in teaching, particularly in organic chemistry, is advantageous.
- Participation in scientific exchanges (e.g., conferences) and/or publications is desirable.
Job Description:
- Conduct independent research in supramolecular chemistry aimed at obtaining a doctorate.
- Perform practical laboratory work, including the synthesis and investigation of organic ligands and supramolecular structures.
- Collaborate with other scientists in both national and international projects.
- Participate in the preparation and editing of scientific publications and progress reports.
- Assist in teaching, including the supervision of Bachelor’s and Master’s research projects.
- Engage in research group tasks and contribute to the group’s overall objectives.
