Eligibility/Qualification
- Master’s degree in a relevant field for the research project
- Analytical skills and problem-solving ability
- Good scientific writing and speaking skills in English
- Ability to take initiative and work independently, as well as collaboratively
- Previous laboratory experience and basic knowledge in multiphase flows are a plus
- Must meet general VKI eligibility criteria

Job Description
The main objectives of the PhD project include:
- Understanding the effect of different parameters on multiphase flow transport in porous media.
- Designing and constructing an experimental setup for visualizing multiphase flow in microporous media using refractive index matching materials.
- Developing measurement techniques for flow visualization in micrometer-sized complex geometries.
- Providing a large experimental benchmark for validating numerical codes.
- Producing experimental data to validate numerical results and developing measurement techniques to characterize multiphase flow in porous microstructures.
