Postdoctoral Position – Nanotechnology and Functional Materials with Focus on Functionalization of Nanocellulose

- Eligibility/Qualification:
- A doctoral degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Materials Engineering, Materials Science, or related fields.
- Documented expertise in carbohydrate chemistry and material characterization.
- Proficiency in English, both written and oral.
- Experience in chemical modification of nanocellulose will be considered a strong merit, as well as expertise in design and synthesis of peptides.
- Job Description:
- Primary focus on functionalizing nanocellulose to achieve effective delivery of bioactive peptides to the chronic wound environment.
- Chemical modification and functionalization of nanocellulose, including the incorporation of crosslinkers to investigate the controlled release of peptides.
- Investigation of diverse coupling chemistries and strategies to ensure stable and bioactive functionalized materials.
- Material characterization in terms of chemical structure, degree of substitution, fiber morphology, and material stability in simulated biological environments.
- Design and synthesis of peptides as a fundamental part of the experimental work.
- Communication of research results through scientific articles in well-established journals and presentations at international conferences.
- Potential supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Contribution to applications for external research funding.
