The selected candidate will work under Dr. Ana I. BenÃtez-Mateos, aiming to develop novel protein bioengineering technology for creating robust and efficient biocatalysts.

Protein bioengineering, biocatalysis, enzyme catalysis, synthetic pharmaceuticals, fragrance molecules, food additives.
Location:
- Primary: Biochemical Engineering Laboratory, Department of Chemistry and Applied Biosciences, ETH Zurich, Switzerland.
- Secondary: Technical University of Munich, Germany (1-2 years).
Eligibility/Qualification:
- Master’s degree in Biology, (Bio)chemistry, Biotechnology, Chemical/Bioengineering, or related disciplines from a recognized university.
- Excellent academic track-record.
- Proficiency in English.
- Good communication skills and social competence.
- Self-motivated with a commitment to scientific excellence and willingness to travel.
Job Description:
- Full-time position for 4 years starting immediately or upon mutual agreement (between September and November 2024).
- Conduct innovative research on developing robust and efficient biocatalysts.
- Collaborate with researchers from Switzerland, UK, Germany, and USA.
- Mentor bachelor and master students.
- Participate in group and institute duties, including teaching activities.
- Publish results in peer-reviewed journals and present at (inter)national conferences.
