Doctoral Scholarship in Underwater Robotics and Machine Learning

Designation: Doctoral Student

Research Area:
The project focuses on the utilization of multiple autonomous underwater vehicles for rapid area inspection and monitoring. The central emphasis of this research will be the application of machine learning for advanced data fusion. Furthermore, it will involve in-water testing and the development of a system in simulation and partially in hardware, utilizing the resources available in SMaRC2.0.

Eligibility/Qualification:
To be considered for this position, candidates must fulfill the following admission requirements:

  • Possess a second cycle degree (e.g., master’s degree) or completed course requirements of at least 240 higher education credits, of which at least 60 are second-cycle higher education credits
  • Demonstrate mandatory English proficiency equivalent to English B/6
  • Prior experience and/or coursework in Robotics, Machine Learning, or Marine operations is highly meritorious

Job Description:
As a doctoral student, you will be tasked with independently pursuing research work, collaborating with peers, demonstrating a professional approach, and analyzing complex issues related to underwater robotics and machine learning. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the development and implementation of innovative solutions in this specialized field.
