Summary: A twelve-month postdoctoral researcher position is available in the Pneumococcus group (IBS/PG) focused on the ANR “NANOWALL” project, aiming to elucidate the dynamics of cell wall synthesis and maturation processes in Gram-positive bacteria.
Postdoctoral Researcher Position in Pneumococcus Group (IBS/PG)
Designation: Postdoctoral Researcher
Research Area: The post-doctoral project aims to elucidate the dynamics of the synthesis and maturation processes for peptidoglycan (PG) and teichoic acids (TA) in the cell wall of Gram-positive bacteria, with a focus on the human pathogen Streptococcus pneumoniae.
Location: Pneumococcus group (IBS/PG)
Eligibility/Qualification: Applicants must have obtained a Ph.D. in structural biology and possess knowledge of molecular mechanisms of bacterial division, cell wall composition, click chemistry processes, and fluorescence and electronic microscopy methods.
Job Description: The successful candidate will carry out experiments linked to the ANR “NANOWALL” project, using a combination of click chemistry methods, super-resolution fluorescence microscopy, electron microscopy, biochemistry, and NMR. These techniques will be applied to wild-type and mutant strains of Streptococcus pneumoniae.
How to Apply: Interested candidates can apply via the cNRS webform at: Apply Here. Candidates are encouraged to contact Dr. Cécile Morlot for additional information about the postdoctoral position and application procedure.
Last Date for Apply: The application deadline is to be extended beyond August 1 in the coming days.
