Designation: PhD Position in Analytical Chemistry and Pharmacokinetics

Research Area: The successful candidate will be involved in developing a sensitive, selective, and rapid liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) method for the analysis of a lead candidate against schistosomiasis. They will also conduct pharmacokinetic studies with different doses and treatment regimens in mice, humanized mice, and hamsters, assist with pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic modelling, and conduct combination chemotherapy studies with the lead candidate and other antischistosomal drugs.

Location: Allschwil, Switzerland

Eligibility/Qualification: Prospective candidates should hold an MSc degree in chemistry, pharmacy, biology, or a similar field, demonstrating interest in a multidisciplinary work environment. They should possess hands-on experience with LC-MS/MS and the development of analytical methods, along with a keen interest in parasitology and work in rodents. Exceptional laboratory skills, self-motivation, and a career-oriented approach are essential. Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, is required, with fluency in French and/or German being an asset.

Job Description: The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in conducting preclinical studies aimed at investigating the lead candidate against schistosomiasis. This includes method development, pharmacokinetic studies, pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic modelling, and combination chemotherapy studies.
