Research Associate (642005): An exciting opportunity is available for a postdoctoral Research Associate position at the Strathclyde Institute of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences (SIPBS), University of Strathclyde. The successful candidate will be involved in a cutting-edge research project investigating the influence of thermodynamic micro-phase separation in binary solvent mixtures on the particle size and shape of crystalline materials. This position is part of an EPSRC grant for the special call ‘Accelerating the Medicines Revolution’ and offers the chance to work with world-class facilities and in collaboration with industry.
Designation: Research Associate
Research Area: Investigating the influence of microheterogeneous binary solvent systems on particle property control and their potential application in continuous crystallisation of pharmaceutically relevant model compounds.
Location: Strathclyde Institute of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences, University of Strathclyde, UK
Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD degree or equivalent in Chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, or related discipline, or in the process of completing this qualification.
- Good first degree in Chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, or related discipline.
- Relevant experience in particle characterization, crystallisation, and solid-state analytical tools.
- Experience in solution characterization tools such as NMR and FTIR, as well as total scattering experiments.
Job Description:
The successful candidate will conduct their own research project and support two PhD students in related research projects. They will also be responsible for supporting the research group in day-to-day running, publishing high-impact peer-reviewed papers, and representing the group at national and international conferences and workshops.
