Eligibility/Qualification:
- Completed MSc degree in molecular biology, medicine, biomedical sciences, or equivalent
- Experience in molecular mechanistic studies in cells and/or rodents
- Strong interest in innovative cardiac and metabolic research
- Proficiency in English (C1 level) with excellent writing and oral communication skills
- Desirable: Experience with electrophysiology, confocal imaging, and/or a laboratory animal science certificate
- Advantageous: Good level of Dutch language
Job Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Investigating the molecular mechanism of arrhythmogenesis using (omic) molecular techniques
- Conducting pharmacological and nutritional interventions in cells, fruit flies, and mice, and verifying key findings in patient materials
- Writing academic publications and presenting findings at national and/or international conferences
- Contributing to a stimulating research culture and supervising research assistants and BSc/MSc students
