Postdoctoral Researcher in Peptide Synthesis: The Trant Team at the University of Windsor is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher with expertise in peptide synthesis. The successful candidate will work closely with a multidisciplinary team on various synthetic and medicinal chemistry projects. Responsibilities include the synthesis, isolation, and purification of complex peptides, including those incorporating non-canonical amino acids and post-synthetic modifications. The role also involves mentoring undergraduate students, leading small teams, and contributing to project management and article writing. Experience in scale-up chemistry and working in interdisciplinary environments is preferred.

Location: University of Windsor, Windsor, Canada

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD in Chemistry or a related discipline, obtained within the last 4 years.
  • Expertise in peptide synthesis, including both solution-phase and solid-phase peptide synthesis.
  • Experience in planning, troubleshooting, and executing peptide syntheses up to 15mers.
  • Proficiency in peptide purification (HPLC semi-prep or preparative experience) and characterization.
  • Strong understanding of organic mechanisms and peptide reaction troubleshooting.
  • Preferred experience in medicinal chemistry, small molecule synthesis, and biological assays.
  • Collaborative and team-oriented mindset.

The position is a 1-year term, renewable based on performance, with an annual salary of $45,000-$50,000 CAD, dependent on expertise. The team offers a stimulating environment supported by significant funding from various agencies and industrial partners.
