Postdoctoral Research Position in Evolutionary Morphology: The Evolutionary Morphology Group at the Institute of Evolutionary Medicine, University of Zurich, is seeking a highly motivated individual for a postdoctoral position to work on a collaborative project focused on analyzing early Homo skeletons from Nariokotome, Kenya, and Dmanisi, Georgia.

Research Area:
The project, “Evolutionary and ontogenetic foundations of modern body form,” aims to utilize advanced virtual imaging techniques and modern reference samples to explore aspects such as evolutionary changes in body proportions and growth trajectories, skeletal development, pathology, and biomechanical adaptations in response to bipedalism in known Homo erectus skeletons.
Eligibility/Qualification:
Applicants should demonstrate a strong interest in human evolution and possess an excellent research record. A background in virtual techniques, human anatomy, biomechanics, and statistics is desirable. The position requires relocation to Zurich.
Job Description:
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to collect data abroad, present findings at international conferences, collaborate on group projects, and assist in teaching and mentoring students. The Swiss National Science Foundation supports postdocs up to 5 years after their PhD defense.
