Postdoctoral Position in Genomics: The Genomics of Gene Expression (GGE) lab, part of the I2SysBio institute in Valencia, is offering a postdoctoral position to establish a new wet-lab for multi-omics, long reads, and single-cell sequencing. The successful candidate will contribute to pioneering research in gene expression dynamics and regulation through the creation and application of advanced computational and experimental methods.

Postdoctoral Position in Genomics of Gene Expression (GGE) Lab – Valencia

Designation: Postdoctoral Researcher/Lab Manager

Research Area: Multi-omics, Long Reads Sequencing, Single-Cell Sequencing, Bioinformatics, Gene Expression Dynamics

Location: Valencia, Spain

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD in Molecular Biology or a related discipline
  • Experience in cell culture, DNA and RNA extraction, library preparation, and optimization
  • Knowledge of handling animal experiments is advantageous
  • Basic understanding of data analysis and bioinformatics preferred
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English
  • Creativity, enthusiasm, and ability to work both independently and in a team

Job Description:
The successful candidate will:

  • Establish and manage a wet-lab focused on multi-omics, long reads, and single-cell sequencing
  • Optimize and set up sequencing protocols
  • Generate sequencing datasets
  • Participate in the quality control and analysis of data
  • Engage in the development of bioinformatics tools and models to understand disease progression
  • Collaborate with an international, multidisciplinary team of researchers
