PhD Position in Translational Oncology: The UKE Center for Oncology is offering a prestigious scholarship opportunity for a PhD position within their research laboratory focusing on translational oncology.

Research Area: Translational oncology, with a particular emphasis on the development of personalized therapeutic approaches for various tumor entities and the study of extracellular vesicles in the tumor microenvironment.

Location: UKE Center for Oncology, II. Med. Klinik (Häma/Onko), Germany

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Completed university degree in biology, chemistry, or equivalent life sciences
  • Good knowledge of microscopic techniques, molecular biology, and (immuno)oncology
  • Proficiency in English and common computer applications
  • Strong motivation, teamwork, and communication skills
  • Proof of immunization or immunity against the measles virus is mandatory

Job Description:

  • Conduct functional analyses on extracellular vesicles (EVs)
  • Utilize microscopic techniques such as confocal microscopy and live cell imaging
  • Employ molecular and cell biology techniques
  • Work with various cell lines in culture
  • Generate, evaluate, and interpret data using various methods including WB, IHC, PCR, ELISA, FACS
  • Present results at conferences and contribute to manuscript preparation
